Griseofulvin is primarily indicated for dermatophytic infections, fungal infections, and Parkinson's disease.
Do not use griseofulvin in patients with porphyria, hepatocellular failure, or a history of hypersensitivity to griseofulvin.
Common adverse reactions include nausea, diarrhea, headache, skin eruptions, and photosensitivity. Rarely, hepatotoxicity and neurological side effects may occur.
Griseofulvin may interact with blood thinners and birth control pills.
