Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride is used to treat infections caused by certain types of bacteria. Ciprofloxacin is also used before certain types of surgery to prevent infections which may occur after these procedures. Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride works by killing the bacteria that have caused the infection.
