Indications:
1. Complex partial seizures (also known as psychomotor seizures or temporal lobe epilepsy), generalized tetano-paroxysmal seizures, the above two mixed seizures or other partial or systemic seizures; It is not effective for typical or atypical absence episodes, muscle twins, or absence tension episodes.
2. Trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia attack, also used as long-term preventive medication after trigeminal neuralgia relief. It can also be used for tabes and multiple sclerosis, diabetic peripheral neuralgia, affected limb and post-traumatic neuralgia, and postherpetic neuralgia.
3. Prevention or treatment of manic-depression; Manic-depression that does not respond to or is not tolerated by lithium or antipsychotics or antidepressants may be used alone or in combination with lithium and other antidepressants.
4. Central partial diabetes insipidus can be used alone or in combination with chloropropylurea or clobetin.
5. For certain mental disorders including schizophrenic affective disorders, intractable schizophrenia and uncontrolled syndromes associated with limbic system dysfunction.
6. Restless leg syndrome (Ekbom syndrome), hemifacial spasm.
7. Withdrawal syndrome of alcohol addiction.


Side effects:
1. The most common adverse reaction is the reaction of the central nervous system, which is manifested as blurred vision, double vision and nystagmus.
2. Water retention and hyponatremia (or water poisoning) caused by stimulation of antidiuretic hormone secretion, with an incidence of about 10-15%.
3. Less common adverse reactions include allergic reactions, Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis, rash, urticaria, pruritus; Behavioral disorders in children, severe diarrhea, lupus-like syndrome (hives, itching, rash, fever, sore throat, bone or joint pain, fatigue).
4. Rare adverse reactions include glandular diseases, arrhythmias or atrioventricular block (especially in the elderly), myelosuppression, central nervous system poisoning (dysphoria, agitation, tinnitus, tremors, and hallucinations), allergic hepatitis, hypocalcemia, which directly affect bone metabolism leading to osteoporosis, kidney poisoning, peripheral neuritis, acute uropurpurosis, etc. Embolic vasculitis, hypersensitivity pneumonia, and acute intermittent porphyria may cause hypothyroidism. There was a case of myotwin epilepsy complicated with aseptic meningitis, which caused meningitis recurrence after receiving this product. Occasionally granulocytopenia, reversible thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia, and toxic hepatitis were observed.


Usage & Dosage:
Normal adult dosage
1. Anticonvulsant, 0.1g at first, 2 ~ 3 times a day; After the second day, increase by 0.1g daily until curative effect appears; The maintenance dose should be adjusted to the lowest effective dose and taken in different doses. Pay attention to individualization, the maximum dose does not exceed 1.2g per day.
2. Analgesia, 0.1g at first, twice a day; After the second day, it was increased by 0.1-0.2 g every other day until the pain was relieved, and the maintenance dose was 0.4-0.8 g per day, taken in separate doses; The maximum dose should not exceed 1.2g per day.
3. Diabetes insipidus, 0.3 ~ 0.6g per day when used alone, such as combined with other antidiuretics, 0.2 ~ 0.4g per day, divided into 3 times.
4. Anti-mania or anti-psychosis, start with 0.2 ~ 0.4g per day, gradually increase to a maximum of 1.6g per week, divided into 3 to 4 times. Daily limit, 12 ~ 15 years old, no more than 1g; No more than 1.2g above the age of 15; A few use up to 1.6g. The limit is usually 1.2g for adults, no more than 1g per day for 12-15 years old, and a few people need to use up to 1.6g. No more than 1.2g daily for pain relief.

Normal dosage for children
Anticonvulsant, before the age of 6, start daily according to body weight 5mg/kg, increase the dosage every 5 to 7 days, up to 10 mg/kg per day, if necessary to 20 mg/kg, maintenance volume adjusted to the maintenance blood concentration of 8 to 12 μg/kg, generally according to body weight 10 to 20 mg/kg, about 0.25 to 0.3g, not more than 0.4g; Children aged 6 to 12 years old were given 0.05g to 0.1g twice on the first day, and increased by 0.1g every other week until curative effect appeared; The maintenance dose is adjusted to the minimum effective dose, generally 0.4-0.8g per day, no more than 1g, divided into 3 to 4 times.
