Active Ingredient: Dextrose 5g/100ml
Appearance: Clear, colorless or almost colorless solution
Pharmacology:
The product is the main source of energy required by the body. In the body, glucose can be oxidized into carbon dioxide and
water and provide energy at the same time, or stored in the form of glycogen, has a protective effect on the liver. 5%
isotonic glucose injection or glucose and sodium chloride injection can replenish body fluid. As for hypertonic glucose
injection, it can increase blood osmotic pressure, dehydrate tissues and provide temporary diuretic effect.
Indication:
This product is administered by intravenous infusion for the treatment of dehydration in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses,
dogs andcats; aid the correction of hyperkalaemia (through the promotion of insulin production which in turn causes
potassium to move from plasma into cells).
Usage and dosage:
Intravenous use. Administer slowly via intravenous infusion.
Recommend Usage: Horse, Cattle 1000~5000ml; Sheep and pig 200~1000ml; Dogs 100~500ml.
Contraindications
Do not administer to hyperglycaemic animals.
This product is unsuitable for the correction of hypotonic dehydration. Do not use in animals with pre-existing peripheral
oedema caused by a reduction in intravascular oncotic pressure.
This product is not suitable as a sole source of calorie requirements or as a substitute for oral or parenteral nutrition.
Adverse reactions:
Electrolyte disorders such as hypokalemia and hyponatremia may occur after long-term glucose supplementation alone.
Precautions:
Hypertonic injection should be injected slowly, so as to decrease the burden of the heart. And do not leak out of the blood
vessel.
