Indications:
Procaine penicillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, including syphilis.
Contra-indications:
A previous hypersensitivity reaction to any penicillin is a contraindication.
Drug Interactions:
a bacteriostatic antibiotic, may antagonize the bactericidal effect of penicillin and concurrent use of these drugs should be avoided.
Concurrent administration of penicillin and prolongs serum penicillin levels by decreasing the apparent volume of distribution and slowing the rate of excretion by competitively inhibiting renal tubular secretion of penicillin.

This medication is removed by the kidneys. Therefore, elderly people may be at greater risk for side effects while using this drug.Kidney function is not fully developed in newborns/infants. Therefore, newborns/infants may be at greater risk for side effects while using this drug.During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:
See emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include mood changes, agitation, confusion, and seizure (convulsions).
